We couldn’t help falling for its quirks, especially the creaky floors, squeaky doors and the beautiful painted ceiling in the master bedroom. From a bright conservatory kitchen to a secluded garden study, there are plenty of places to get the whole brood together as well as private nooks for quiet moments with a page-turner. Pack a picnic and take the five-minute walk over to Montsouris Park – we recommend finding a spot by the lake. The eerie Catacombs of Paris, sleek Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art and the famous La Closerie des Lilas café, frequented by Ernest Hemingway no less, are all within a twenty-minute stroll from your doorstep.
